ChitsVyapar documentation

Everything you need to set up and run chit-fund record-keeping in ChitsVyapar.

Getting started

1. Create your account

Tap Sign up → enter your email + password, or "Continue with Google". With email, click the verification link in your inbox before signing in. New accounts start free, no card. (Optional: enter a referral code for plan credit.)

2. Log in

Go to Login → email + password, or "Continue with Google" (the same method you signed up with). Forgot your password? Use "Forgot password". If you turned on 2FA, enter the 6-digit code.

3. Find your way around

You land on the Dashboard — collected, pending, and overdue at a glance. The left sidebar is your menu: Chit Groups, People, Payments, Reports, Premium, Guide, My Profile, and more. On mobile, tap the menu icon top-left.

People, groups and members

4. Add people (your contacts)

Open People → Add → enter Name + Phone → save. Use "Bulk add people" for many at once. A person is added once and reused across any number of groups — adding them here does not put them in a group yet.

5. Create a chit group

Open Chit Groups → "New chit group" → fill Group name, Total ₹ (chit value), Monthly ₹ (installment), Months (duration), Start date → Save. The full month-by-month schedule is generated for you.

6. Add members to a group

Open the group → Members section → "Add members" → pick people (add them in People first if missing) → confirm. Each member gets an installment row every month. Remove/exit a member from the same section — history is kept.

Edit a group

Open the group → Edit. Terms can change safely: schedules recompute and every edit is written to the group audit log.

Auctions

7. Record an auction

Open the group → Auctions → "Record auction" → select the winning member and enter the winning bid. The app computes the winner payout and everyone else's dividend/extra split automatically.

Undo an auction

On that month, use "Revoke auction" to reverse it — schedules recompute and the action is logged.

Recording payments

8. Mark a payment

Open Payments (or a group, month by month) → find the member/installment → mark Collected → enter the amount (full or partial) and tag the method (Cash / UPI / Bank / Other) → save. The app records who paid what; it never moves money.

9. Undo / correct a payment

In Payments, find the row → tap "Undo" to reverse it, then re-record correctly if needed. Every change is in the audit log, so corrections stay traceable.

10. Send reminders

Use the reminder action next to an unpaid member and pick a channel (WhatsApp / email — depends on your plan). For automatic nudges, enable Automated reminders on the Premium page. Each plan includes a monthly reminder allowance.

Premium features & add-ons

11. Manage premium features

Open Premium (sidebar) to turn on: business branding, auto-receipts (WhatsApp/email), automated reminders, the WhatsApp self-service bot, the WhatsApp self-briefing, data export, and staff & collectors. Locked items show an Upgrade link.

WhatsApp self-service bot

Turn it on under Premium (needs a plan that includes the bot). Members then text your official business number and get an instant auto-reply: balance → dues + total · next → next payment & date · receipt → last payment · help → menu. Telugu/Hindi keywords work too (బకాయి / बकाया, రసీదు / रसीद). Unknown text → polite fallback; unknown numbers → no reply. Monthly reply limit per plan.

12. Your WhatsApp self-briefing

With a plan that includes it (Premium) and your phone set on My Profile, text your business number: briefing / today / summary / report. You get today's dues, total overdue, payouts due — plus a call list of members who owe, with tappable numbers to call them directly. Collectors get one section per operator they collect for.

Add-on packs

Buy packs (e.g. Notifications) on the Premium page to stack extra capacity — more WhatsApp/email/bot/briefing/export allowance — on top of your base plan.

Reports, export and audit

13. Reports & statements

Open Reports for monthly breakdowns and six-month trends; open Statements for per-group and per-member statements (PDF on supported plans). They build themselves from what you record.

Roles & audit log

Role-based access plus a signed audit trail on every action — corrections, auctions, edits are all logged.

14. Import existing data

Open Import (on plans with migration) → download the template → fill in your groups/members/payments → upload → review the preview → confirm.

15. Export your data

Premium → "Export my data" downloads a ZIP: one CSV per collection plus a full JSON copy — a backup, or to take your data elsewhere. Each plan allows a number of exports per month.

Team, referrals and support

16. Staff / collectors

Premium → Staff & collectors (needs role-based access). Invite a collector by email and assign specific groups. They sign in with their own account, see only those groups, and can record payments + send reminders — never billing or other groups. Use "Working as" in the sidebar to switch context.

17. Refer & earn

Open Refer & Earn for your personal code/link. Share it; when another operator signs up and pays, you earn plan credit.

18. Report a bug / send feedback

Tap the floating "Send feedback" button (bottom of the screen) → pick a category (design tweak, structural fix, feature wish, or bug) → for a bug, set severity and describe it → submit. It goes straight to the team.

Your account

19. Profile & security

Open My Profile to update name, email, phone, etc. Under Security, change your password (email accounts) or send a reset email, and turn on two-factor (2FA). Changing your email here updates your login email everywhere.

20. Delete your account

My Profile → Danger zone → "Request account deletion" → read what will be removed (account, groups, members, payments, transactions) → tick "I understand this is permanent" → Confirm. Processed within 7 working days; cannot be undone.
